Free At-Home Covid Tests

Starting January 18, 2022, people can get one set of 4 free at-⁠home COVID-⁠19 tests from the Federal Government at https://www.covidtests.gov/ or go directly to the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) at https://special.usps.com/testkits. Every home in the U.S. is eligible to order one set of 4 free at-⁠home COVID-⁠19 tests. The tests are completely free – a credit card number will not be required and those ordering tests will not be charged for shipping. Orders will usually ship within 7-12 days. All tests ordered in the continental United States will be shipped through First Class Package Service.

Order your tests now so you have them when you need them. The tests available for order on the government website are rapid antigen at-home tests, not PCR. They can be taken anywhere. Give results within 30 minutes (no lab drop-off required). Work whether or not you have COVID-⁠19 symptoms. Work whether or not you are up to date on your COVID-⁠19 vaccines. They are also referred to self-tests or over-the-counter (OTC) tests.
